A winter weather advisory is in effect for Marion and Warren Counties as snow is expected to impact the region Thursday.

Widespread accumulations of 2-4″ is in the forecast to fall over most of southern Iowa today, with higher amounts possible the further south one travels toward the Iowa-Missouri border. A Winter Storm Advisory will continue until Friday at 7:00 AM. Snow will most likely stick to grassy surfaces and should melt some on pavement, however, with heavier amounts in the forecast accumulations on roads is more likely.

Visibility will be significantly reduced and roads may become slick as temperatures drop below freezing. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for the latest weather information.
