The Indianola boys tennis team was poised to have a rebuilding season after losing a large portion of their varsity roster to graduation, but were also planning on using the growth of the program over the last several years to provide depth. Head coach Jamie Busby tells KNIA Sports she and the team was devastated when the season was canceled, but with the latest update from the IHSAA with school coming back soon there is hope for competition.
“Up until we heard the latest update, we were kind of in limbo, wondering what a season could look like. We knew that summer sports are in Iowa, so we couldn’t just push spring into June. So there were a lot of questions as to what it would look like, and about a week ago we got some clarification on the schedule, and it looks like it will be quick and it will be fun. So hopefully it happens.”
The Indians went 8-4 last season, including an upset against Norwalk in their final regular season contest
