Recently Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announced that his office plans to mail an absentee ballot request form to every active registered voter in the state ahead of the June 2 primary. According to Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia, the request forms will be mailed out beginning next week on Wednesday, April 23rd. Grandia tells KNIA/KRLS News once residents receive their request form, they will need to fill it out and mail it in to still receive a ballot. He says residents need to make sure they indicate what party they would like a ballot for as the ballots are for the primary in which residents chose the candidate to represent that party in the upcoming November election.
Secretary Pate is encouraging Iowans to vote by mail in the June 2 primary to reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19. Anyone who has any question or would like to request an Absentee Ballot Request Form should call the Marion County Auditor’s Office at 641-828-221
