Marion County representatives and local community leaders including Marion County Public Health Director Kim Dorn, Pella Christian Schools Principal Dan Van Kooten, Pells Schools Superintendent Greg Ebeling and Knoxville Schools Superintendent Cassi Pearson held a press conference Monday and gave updates on how the COVID-19 pandemic was affecting the county as well as what they were doing to keep people safe. According to Marion County officials, there are five confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Marion County which include two active cases and three cases in which the people infected have recovered.

Marion County Supervisor Mark Raymie began the press conference by explaining why certain information regarding the cases has not been provided. According to Raymie, people are continuing to want to know who is infected and where they are located throughout the county, to which Raymie explained the county is providing the exact amount of information they are allowed to by law. Raymie says there will be no further updates on the identity of the people infected and where they are located in the county.

Marion County will continue to hold informative press conferences for the foreseeable future with the next scheduled for Friday, April 24th at 1 p.m. Each press conference will be aired live on 92.1 KRLS and 95.3 KNIA and reaired at 6 p.m.
