Today is Earth Day. Earth Day is celebrated April 22nd each year with this year being the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. This year’s theme for Earth Day is climate action. As COVID-19 continues to impact life throughout the world, Earth Day advocates are turning to technology to celebrate the day as well as plan future events. Advocates are asking residents to help drive action associated with Earth Day and the fight against climate change by flooding the digital landscape with global conversations, calls to action, performances, video teach-ins and more. The first Earth Day sparked the passage in the U.S. of the Clean Air, Clean Water and Endangered Species Acts, and the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency and the hope is more changes can be sparked by people around the world celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
