PCM senior Derek Brown has officially lost his soccer season, but is still holding out hope that his senior year of baseball will be played. Brown has been a key starting pitcher throughout his tenure at PCM, and will be taking his talents to Council Bluffs this fall to join the Iowa Western Reivers. Brown says that his goal is to eventually move to a Division I program, and felt Iowa Western would give him the best opportunity to do so.

“First of all, it came down to where I would feel best at home-wise, family-wise. And I just thought Iowa Western, right when I stepped on the campus, I felt like I could be there for a few years and not have any problems. But also that my end goal after my two years is to go Division I, and I felt they could give me the best opportunity to try to achieve my goals. So that’s why I chose Iowa Western.”

If high school summer sports take place, Brown will spend one final season in a Mustang uniform, and head to Council Bluffs to begin his freshman year. Hear a complete interview with Derek Brown on tonight’s Radio Sports Page at 6:00 p.m. on KNIA/KRLS.
