indianola-3

With the summer sports season set to be re-evaluated June 1st, local teams are still preparing for the boys and girls of summer to hit the diamonds. Indianola head baseball coach Casey Aldridge tells KNIA Sports with no offseason throwing program and no coordinated workouts, the shortened season will be different than in years past.

“They have to find someone to throw with, and simulate swings. We have given them equipment that they can do on their own, but it’s a little bit tougher. It’s gonna have to be accelerated. Our pitching innings will probably have to be really low and work a lot of guys in there and have to work up. Our season is going to be shorter no matter what, so we will just have to be prepared as much as we can.”

Coach Aldridge also said he knows his guys are doing a good job staying in shape, and they are itching to get out onto the field.
