The Melcher-Dallas Baseball Squad is trying to rebuild to a competitive program. When Pat Ferguson was hired as coach, the program had been dormant for a season and he was playing several eighth graders and freshmen. Ferguson tells KNIA Sports this season will be similar but is confident the guys will improve by the end of the summer.
Ferguson:
“That’s what I had, I had one sophomore and the rest were freshmen and 8th graders, and we took some lumps but all that playing time made up better. We won ten games then 13 games so we were headed in the right direction.”
Should the Saints be allowed to play the season, they would start with a road game on June first against Woodward Academy.
