Marion County representatives and local community leaders held a COVID-19 informative press conference Friday. Pella Mayor Don DeWaard, Pella Regional Health Center CEO Bob Kroese, Knoxville Hospital and Clinics CEO Kevin Kincaid and Marion County Treasurer Michaela Bigaouette were all featured during the press conference and helped update the residents on the current COVID-19 threat in the county as well as important updates from their own areas of expertise. Friday’s press conference centered around discussions about how and when parts of the state and county would begin to reopen to the public, to which Marion County Supervisor Mark Raymie told residents the county will continue to follow guidance from the state and will update residents with more information next week.

Currently Marion County has 2 active cases of COVID-19 in the county with four other cases in which the infected person has recovered from the disease for a total of 6 confirmed cases. No one in Marion County has died from COVID-19. Marion County will continue to hold informative press conferences for the foreseeable future with the next scheduled for Monday, April 27th at 1 p.m. Each press conference will be aired live on 92.1 KRLS and 95.3 KNIA and reaired at 6 p.m
