The wide range of economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic has not stopped the City of Indianola from performing regular city business, and according to Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell, permit applications for home building projects are rising compared to 2019. Dissell tells KNIA News he thinks people are trying to take advantage of this time to get some projects in.
“We require permits for decks, permits for accessory structures or accessory sheds that are over a certain square footage. And I think maybe that’s what is happening here, people are planning on pushing these projects ahead here a little bit knowing they are working from home and can get it done.”
