Five weeks into the Pay it Forward Pella program, local shoppers have generated significant support for local businesses. Since the program started on March 20th, more than $307,000 in receipts have been received by the Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance, and earlier this week, just under $19,000 in Pella Bucks had been given back to those participating. The Pay it Forward Program incentivizes shopping at local businesses, with $10 in Pella Bucks given back for every $100 spent, with receipts capped at $1000 per business per visit, and payments on bills, grocery shopping, and fuel purchases not qualifying. The PACE Alliance will continue the program until funds are depleted.
