A Knoxville man was arrested Thursday after officers discovered items in his home that had been stolen during a recent burglary. According to court documents on April 7th law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of south 2nd Street in Knoxville as the resident of the home, 45-year-old Matthew Alcorn was believed to be involved in a recent burglary and theft.

Officers had received photos and video of a person trespassing at a residence in the 200 block of west Madison Street believed to be Alcorn on the day the burglary occurred. During the search of Alcorn’s home officers located multiple items that belonged to the victim including mail and documentation containing the victim’s private information. Officers also located a .22 caliber revolver which was taken from the property. In total the property and items found at Alcorn’s residence totaled $27,663 in value.

Officers also located a large amount of used clear plastic baggies with residue and a crystalline substance as well as a baggie which contained .5 grams of methamphetamine. Alcorn was arrested and charged with theft 1st degree, a class C felony, burglary 3rd degree, a class D felony, possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense, a class D felony as well as possession of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony.
