Many area spring and summer sports coaches are in a difficult and different situation than they have ever been. With the spring sports season cancelled and summer sports season on hold until at least June first, coaches can only hope their athletes are putting in the time to get ready for the summer season. Melcher-Dallas Baseball and Football Coach Pat Ferguson tells KNIA Sports he misses the times with his baseball guys because this is about the time they would be working out after track practice and planning the baseball season.

Ferguson:
“Getting everybody ready and getting the kids that come from track and workout with us, so I definitely miss it and it’s just weird circumstances that we’re in right now.”

Ferguson has hope for the baseball season seeing his team improve and getting a few more wins than they did last summer.
