The Indianola City Council will meet in special session today, discussing the entrance into the Greater Des Moines Partnership Small Business Recovery Program. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the program would provide funds for local businesses who weren’t able to secure earlier loans.
“The city would come up with $2.30 per capita, so roughly $30,000. And as long as we have an additional private investment, the partnership will match that. So that is an additional $16,000, and all of this would be available to businesses that were not provided PPP or IEDA grants.”
If passed, the program would roughly provide up to $46,000 in grants for local businesses in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Public comment may be submitted with a form found with the agenda. The meeting begins at 5:30pm, and will be streamed live via YouTube. To hear more, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
