One of the aspects the Indianola softball team is keeping in mind for the delayed season is the player’s mental health in addition to their physical readiness. Head coach Stacy Evans tells KNIA Sports the athletes are going through a lot right now, especially after falling in the quarterfinals of last year’s state tournament.
“If we get a green light, I know how hungry teh team was prior to this happening. I can only sense a little bit of what is going on in their minds right now. But, with the mental piece of it, they have to deal with that before they will be ready to physically get back on the field.”
The Indians went 34-5 last season.
