Area coaches have had to find the words to comfort the local athletes who lost their seasons this spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Twin Cedars Girls Track and Field Coach Cam Parker tells KRLS Sports his message would be to not take your athletic career for granted and play like it is your last time on the field.
Parker:
“We can’t really control this and take full advantage of your opportunities. You can’t take it for granted. You never know when it’s your last at bat in a baseball or softball game, so go out and play like it’s your last time.”
Parker had no seniors on his track and field squad this year, but he says that does not diminish the disappointment felt throughout the squad when the season was cancelled.
