A North Dakota man who pleaded guilty of performing lascivious acts with a female minor received a suspended sentence. According to court documents, 20-year-old Alvis Sayee of Fargo, North Dakota was sentenced to time served, with the rest of his 10 year term suspended by Judge Richard Clogg. Sayee was placed on probation for three years as well as ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, register as a sex offender, complete a mental health evalutation and abide by a no contact order for the next five years.
The Marion County Attorney’s Office told KNIA/KRLS News that they “felt very strongly that this defendant should be sent to prison. Notwithstanding our request the court granted the defendant probation. We were profoundly disappointed in the court’s decision.”
Sayee’s sentence stems from an incident which occurred in November of 2019 in which law enforcement found a missing juvenile female in Sayee’s vehicle near Carlisle after it was reported the girl was seen with him at a hotel in Knoxville. Sayee admitted to having sexual intercourse with the child on multiple occasions.
