A Pleasantville woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly caused damage to a residence with a hammer as well as stole a phone.. According to court documents, 23-year-old Makenzie Daggett was arrested after she refused to leave a residence in the 1400 block of 165th Avenue in rural Knoxville.
Daggett began damaging windows and doors with a hammer after being ordered to leave by the resident of the home. When the victim attempted to stop Daggett, she began attacking the victim causing injuries to the victim’s neck and face. Daggett also took the victim’s cell phone and refused to return it. Daggett admitted to officers during a phone conversation that she had caused the damage with a hammer as well as took the phone and refused to give it back, indicating to officers she intended to permanently deprive the victim of his property.
Daggett was arrested and charged with criminal mischief 2nd degree, a class D felony, theft 3rd degree, an aggravated misdemeanor, trespass injury or damage greater than $300, a serious misdemeanor as well as domestic abuse assault injury or mental illness, a serious misdemeanor.
