Before schools across the state were closed for the remainder of the school year, today was to be the day that school and spring sports resumed. Now both of those are off the table, so to speak, and summer sports teams are waiting to find out if their season will be played. PCM baseball coach Jeff Lindsay says that the main focus right now is to stay in communication with the players, and hope they’re staying in shape for the upcoming season.
“Trying to stay in communication with them, and just letting them know to continue to do what’s being asked of them when it comes to staying safe. Just telling them to do the best they can when the weather permits. So that’s really all we’re stressing to them right now, and hoping that eventually we’ll be able to get out there and start practicing and playing.”
PCM would open at Pella on June 2nd if the season starts as currently planned. A decision on the summer sports season will be made sometime this month.
