In order to protect staff and patients, Knoxville Hospital & Clinics (KHC) has implemented additional screening and safety procedures for patients and visitors. KHC encourages all patients and visitors over the age of two to wear a face covering. KHC will provide homemade masks to those who arrive without one.
Staff have found that the Olson style mask has worked particularly well. Patterns for the Olson style are found on the hospital website or clicking here: https://knoxvillehospital.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/OlsonMask_wPattern_KHC.pdf. Donations can be dropped off at the screening station at the entrance to campus.
KHC reminds the community to practice proper social distancing guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
KHC encourages patients to schedule a visit with their provider to maintain their healthy lifestyle. Patients may schedule an appointment in the clinic or a virtual visit using KHC’s Mobile Express Care on your mobile device, tablet or laptop.
Prior to a patient’s visit, KHC staff will screen individuals over the phone for the following symptoms: fever, cold, flu, cough, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Individuals presenting with at least one of these symptoms will be directed to the Bell Avenue Clinic for further evaluation.
All non-employees must enter the KHC campus through the Emergency Entrance, off Howard Street. KHC staff will screen individuals in their vehicles for fever, cold, flu, cough, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Individuals presenting with at least one of these symptoms will be directed to the Bell Avenue Clinic for further evaluation. KHC continues to not allow visitors into the building with the exception of surgery, hospice, pediatric and critical emergency situations.
