With the Knoxville Community School District closing its doors for the remainder of the school year, teachers, students and parents in Knoxville are continuing to adapt to new and innovative ways of teaching and learning. Knoxville Schools Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News in the first week that online learning was provided the district was amazed as to how many people took advantage of the service. According to Pearson, 2,100 new users were registered in the first week the learning hub was available with almost 6,000 learning sessions. 

Pearson says with the number of students who have taken advantage of the online learning, the district is considering keeping the online learning hub available throughout the summer. She says teachers in the district are committed to the learning hub and the district will continue to provide new activities and expectations for all students through at least the end of May when school would have been in session. Pearson says the district would like to keep the hub available through summer for those students who have made a learning routine so they can keep on learning.For more information on the online learning up as well as resources available to parents and students, contact the Knoxville Community School District.
