Knoxville Track and Field Athlete Abbey Jackson was looking to make her senior season on the track a memorable one before the season came to a heartbreaking end due to being cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Jackson was injured for the last half of the season her junior year in 2019, and while she made the state meet last season, she felt her junior year did not live up to expectations. Now with her senior season cancelled and her high school career over, Jackson feels a void that will never be filled due to the season cancellation…
Jackson:
“I really wanted to come back and make up for last year, and it was upsetting and it really hit home is that last year I didn’t have the best season that I could have had and I just wanted to be better than the last three years.”
Jackson will attend Iowa State University in the fall to study Elementary Education, and to keep her competitive juices flowing she will participate on the ISU Intramural track and field program.
