The National Balloon Classic set for this summer in Indianola has been postponed to 2021. According to a release from the National Balloon Classic Board of Directors and Executive Director Staci Sheurenbrand, after evaluation, discussion, and careful consideration, the event could not be held while safeguarding the health and the safety of guests, participants, staff, volunteers, and the community. The release also stated the event relies heavily on the City of Indianola and Warren County for security, emergency management, and public safety, and could not ask them to take on the additional responsibility of ensuring the health and safety of thousands of visitors. The next National Balloon Classic will officially take place July 30-August 7, 2021.
