The Knoxville Community School District will express its gratitude to teachers and staff during a special event today. From 2 to 4 p.m. the district is inviting staff members to visit the high school parking lot to pick up a token of appreciation. To pick up their items, KCSD staff will use the same location and process as the district’s drive-thru meal service. The event will take place in the middle of National Teacher Appreciation Week and Public Service Appreciation Week.
“As we all know, we are going through a challenging time in our community, and our teachers and staff members have really stepped up in major ways. We want to thank our staff for going above and beyond to meet the needs of our students and families. While we cannot celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week with them in person, we hope to show our appreciation from a distance through this simple event,” said Knoxville Schools Superintendent Cassi Pearson.
National Teacher Appreciation Week runs from May 4th through the 8th.
