The spring sports season being cancelled has had several effects on local high school athletes. Most of their feelings were of disappointment after learning they will not have a season of running, jumping, or throwing. Melcher-Dallas Junior J’Lyn Knutson, who is one of top distance runners in the area while disappointed, is not being deterred as she is still running on her own and keeping herself in shape for the fall cross country season.

Knutson:
“I’m doing pretty good, I’m still running. I’m actually running more because I have more free time, and I just go run and get the time to pass quicker.”

Knutson had a hip injury that held up her cross country season this fall. However, with all of that she still made the state meet and finished 55th overall. Listen for a full interview with Knutson on tonight’s Radio Sports Page at 6:00pm on KNIA.
