With the looming decision on the high school baseball and softball season coming ever closer on June 1st, the Indianola softball team is hoping to hit the diamond and is making sure everyone will be ready once that happens. Head coach Stacy Evans tells KNIA Sports enthusiasm was high for the early workouts before everything was shut down.
“We had a lot of athletes showing up. They were looking solid, they were getting into shape those that didn’t play other sports. We had a lot of help, we did strength and agility with coach Preston West, taking advantage of the weightroom, and we had started our hitting cycles with spring ball coaches which were looking great. Everyone was happy to get to work before it all stopped.”
The Indians went 34-5 last season, falling in the state quarterfinal round against Johnston 3-2.
