Last season, the Twin Cedars Softball Squad was rolling along in the class 1A regional until the Sabers came up against their arch rival Melcher-Dallas in the semi-final. Twin Cedars, after beating the Saints in both games in the regular season, lost to Melcher-Dallas in the regional semi-final 7-2. Twin Cedars Pitcher Ali Mockenhaupt tells KRLS Sports the team learned a valuable lesson that they are not going to let happen this season.
Mockenhaupt:
“I think that was a big lesson that we all needed to learn, and I think it was a good learning experience that we needed for this season. I don’t think we’re going to overestimate ourselves or underestimate anybody, and be ready if the season happens.”
Mockenhaupt went 11-2 last season in the circle. Her offense was also effective as she was second on the team with 41 RBI and a .411 batting average, which put her third in that department.
