If these were normal times, today would be the kick off to Pella’s 85th annual Tulip Time celebration.

But with the COVID-19 pandemic cancelling this year’s festival, Pella Historical Society is working to make the most of missing out on the hallmark tradition. Jessi Vos is the Assistant Director of Pella Historical Society and Museums, and says over the next three days, several videos will be released to celebrate Tulip Time as a virtual event.

Vos says losing the festival has had a significant negative financial impact on Pella Historical Society, other non-profits, and many local businesses that rely on the tourism the celebration generates, and she’s hopeful all who can do so will support those organizations with donations or by shopping at those retailers, restaurants, and others impacted.
