The Knoxville Rotary awarded 16 Knoxville seniors with $750 scholarships Wednesday during the Knoxville Rotary Club’s most recent virtual meeting. The scholarships were given to students who were chosen following feedback from their teachers and community members. Tyler Christian with the club tells KNIA/KRLS news it was fun to hear the future plans of all the students who receive a scholarship. Christian says these seniors have had a difficult senior year with everything happening with COVID-19 but they are a bright group of students and it’s exciting to see what the Knoxville community has produced for the next generation.
According to Christian the 16 scholarships is a record number of scholarships handed out by the club and were given to students who are planning to attend college for two to four years. Scholarship recipients include: Alexis Hopkins, Anna McDonald, Cade McDonald, Cael Hollinrake, Charlie VerMeer, Claire Fay, Dayanerah Garcia, Emma DeJoode, Ethan Murra, Faith Hatch, Jenna Prather, Lane Franck, Maddilyn Graves, Maddy Findley, Riley Newendorp and Trent Walraven.
