Another local high school student-athlete has announced his intentions to compete at the collegiate level. Pleasantville senior Isaac Roe will be joining the Simpson College men’s golf team this fall after losing his high school season. Roe says he decided at the beginning of this school year that he wanted to play golf in college, and Simpson fit the criteria he was looking for.
“I decided at the beginning of this year that I wanted to play golf in college. So I kind of zeroed in on that being one of my main focuses in my search. One of the big things is, it isn’t too far away from home, so I wouldn’t have to travel a lot to go there and I wouldn’t be far away from family. And I just felt right going there. I felt like I connected with all the people I met, and it just kind of made sense.”
Roe will join a rather small roster, as over half of the team this past season was seniors. Roe is also looking forward to competitive seasons in both the fall and spring. He’ll graduate from Pleasantville later this spring and gear up for joining the team for the fall season.
