Marion County held a press conference Friday to update the residents on the current COVID-19 situation. Board of Supervisors Chair Mark Raymie and Marion County Public Health Director Kim Dorn were joined by Pella Regional Health Center CEO Bob Kroese and Knoxville Schools Superintendent Cassi Pearson who provided updates about their respective organizations. Pearson shared with the residents the Knoxville School District’s plans in regards to graduation. Pearson says the district will hold their graduation on June 28th at the Knoxville Raceway and will be open to the public. Pearson says a final decision on graduation will be made June 8th as the district waits for more information from the state regarding social gatherings. Pearson says the district’s backup graduation date is July 26th.
As of Friday, 13 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Marion County, of which one is currently still active and in the other 12 cases the persons infected have recovered.
