If and when the summer sports season gets underway, many teams across the state will likely be in somewhat of a scramble to get ready for the first few games. With June 1st as the potential starting date, many teams will be thrown straight into action if the slate of games remains unchanged. PCM Baseball head coach Jeff Lindsay says the focus will most likely be on the basics of the game, and the honing of skills will have to come later.

“You’re just going to have to try to hit on the basics, you can’t get too in depth. You just have to do what you can to get your players ready, to get out there and be as competitive as possible. Obviously there’s not going to be as much time to hone the skills that you would like, but if we’re able to get out there eventually and get after it, the time frame is probably going to be really short, as the season probably will be too.”

PCM’s first scheduled game is June 2nd at Pella. The Mustangs are expected to return a strong pitching staff who has been working individually in preparation for the season.
