The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. The board held a discussion regarding a proposed Prairie Ridge Development Agreement with Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini updating the supervisors on the agreement. They approved the appointment of Major Jodi Marti as the Marion County Veteran Affairs Commissioner as well as approved a class C liquor license renewal including outdoor service and Sunday sales for Wacko’s Bar and Grill in Knoxville.

The board approved  a resolution approving an agreement for the County Bridge Federal-Aid Swap Funding for the Pierce Drive Bridge Replacement Project in which the state will give Marion County shared funds from the federal government for the project. 

The board held a discussion regarding proposed changes to the Marion County Road Department Entrance Policy and the county’s responsibility in regards to residential driveway repairs.

They approved a fiscal year 2020-2021 Property Tax Suspension Request for a qualifying home by the Department of Human Services as well as held a closed session to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered.
