Several severe thunderstorm warnings impacted most of Marion and Warren Counties along and south of Highway 92 Thursday afternoon and evening.

The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action team was on the air with eight different staff members contributing to coverage from 4:15 to 6:45 p.m. for a total of seven severe thunderstorm warnings and one tornado warning.

Seven reports of hail were submitted to the National Weather Service, with sizes ranging from quarter to baseball sized, especially south and west of Indianola. Tree damage was reported near Harvey in Marion County just before 6 p.m.

Most of the region in the southern halves of Marion and Warren Counties saw between 1.5 to 3 inches of rain, with localized flooding reported in Knoxville and in the impacted regions. Small hail was also reported in southern Marion County, and upwards of 200 customers were without power south and east of Knoxville.
