Indianola senior Nate Thompson will join the Simpson Storm football team next season, continuing his successful kicking career in Indianola. Thompson hit 4 of 6 field goals this past season for the Indians including a 35 yarder, as well as went 41 of 42 on extra points. Thompson tells KNIA Sports he tried to be a leader and example for the younger athletes on the Indianola High School track squad.

“I felt like the underclassman looked up to us as seniors and upperclassmen. Giving them a high five every now and then, giving them good support, telling them to keep their heads up and to do the best they can. They liked to watch us at meets and compete with us. It was fun because it gave them a challenge and gave us a challenge. It kept us all strong and ready to go.”

Simpson senior kicker Zach Kreider graduated after this past season, after a year of hitting 64% on his field goals and 85% of extra points.
