A pair of senior twins at PCM were looking to lead the Mustang girls golf team to new heights this season. While they won’t have the opportunity to do that, they have a lot to look forward to in their athletic careers. Alexis and Brooke Dross have announced that they will be attending St. Ambrose University in Davenport, and will be joining the Fighting Bees’ women’s golf program. Alexis and Brooke both say that St. Ambrose would give them the best opportunity to both pursue their nursing careers while still playing competitive golf.

Alexis:

“Our first priority was definitely the nursing program and then secondary was golf. But I definitely wanted it to be a part of my experience because I feel like balancing everything would be helpful for me with time management and everything. And I feel like some of the other schools, especially the University of Iowa, you wouldn’t get that opportunity because it’s a big school. So it was pretty important.”

Brooke:

“I thought it was important to play golf, but it wasn’t a deal breaker necessarily. I was just weighing on, as far as the decision goes in the nursing program at the University of Iowa, it was more intense compared to St. Ambrose. So I thought it was important that I had the smaller class sizes. I thought nursing was more important than golf, but golf was still important, it was more secondary.”

The Dross twins can expect some good competition among the team when they arrive. Only two seniors are departing this year’s Fighting Bee program.
