The potential of the Twin Cedars Softball Squad this season is nearly limitless. The Sabers went 29-9 with largely a freshman and eighth grade group. Twin Cedars won the Bluegrass Conference last season on the arms of two freshmen pitchers and the leading hitter was an eighth grader. Coach Zack Dunkin is optimistic about the numbers he has and the quality of talent in the younger grades.
Dunkin:
“Clearly a lot of potential in those younger grades, we lost one senior last year and that’s important from a leadership standpoint. Purely from a numbers standpoint, we can fill those roles with those younger kids and bring them up that way.”
If the season is allowed to move forward, Twin Cedars would start its season on June first with a home double header against Davis County.
