At approximately 1:20 pm Sunday Knoxville Fire and Rescue was paged to Building 2 of the old VA campus for a report of a fire. Chief Cal Wyman tells KNIA/KRLS News crews were able to confine the fire to a single room in what appeared to be a shop area. He adds the fire was suspicious, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. No one was injured. Knoxville Fire and Rescue was assisted at the scene by the Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, the Knoxville PD, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and Pella Ambulance. Chief Wyman expects more details will be made available Monday.
