Regardless of what season it is, a high school student-athlete’s life is a busy one. That all changed in March when the COVID-19 pandemic shut schools and sports down. Knoxville senior Charlie Vermeer was not only involved in track and field, but also in the school play and many other activities. Vermeer tells KRLS Sports it was hard to get used to at first and she still wishes to be busier than the situation her and her fellow classmates are in.
Vermeer:
“I was so busy at the end of school. I had track, school and the musical all going on and then, and it was really weird. I’ve got used to it but it’s still really boring.”
