Every high school coach will tell you, give your best to have no regrets. Melcher-Dallas Senior Emery Sage did just that with this running during his high school career. Sage tells KNIA Sports he went out for cross country and track his sophomore season and his only regret was that he should have done it sooner.
Sage:
“I loved it. I remember my first race and I got 25th, and I knew it was something I needed to do. Just hanging out with teammates, and coaches was some of the memories, and that’s something I’ll never forget and am really thankful for that.”
Sage qualified for the state meet in track and field last spring, and made the state meet last fall in cross country. Sage was looking to complete both when the spring sports season was cancelled this year. You can find an interview with Sage during a past Radio Sports Page on kniakrls.com.
