The PCM girls track and field team entered the spring with very high expectations for the 2020 season. Head Coach Eric Karr and his team were hoping that some team records would be broken and some state titles be won. He says that one athlete in particular was already performing well during preseason practices, and they were returning a lot of state qualifiers.
“Going straight to the seniors, looking at Sierra Foster, who was running almost her lifetime PR when we got out on the track already this year. She was hoping to take down Coach Martin’s 200-meter record. The hurdlers, second last year in the shuttle hurdle relay, and losing two of them but bringing in our alternates, we were looking to score huge points there. We were looking to probably be a 4×1, 4×2 team this year, we’d really been strong in the 4×4 the last few years.”
PCM only got in three weeks of practice before the outbreak of COVID-19. The Mustangs will say goodbye to 10 seniors.
