The Knoxville Girls Soccer season for 2020 was supposed to be a season that Knoxville arrived and challenged not only to keep the winning regular seasons, but to also advance deep into the postseason. Now that the season has been cancelled, the players have only memories and what ifs to ask. Junior player Marley McKay tells KRLS Sports not being able to connect with the younger players on the team was one of the most disappointing aspects of the cancellation.

McKay:
“We had pretty good connections with the incoming freshman and they had good numbers from the middle school. I think we were going to have a really promising year. Just to know that we weren’t going to get to connect with those freshmen was pretty sad.”

McKay adds this was a hopeful season coming off of last season’s record breaking 14-4 campaign. Hear from McKay on today’s Spring Sports Spotlights on KNIA/KRLS and a full interview on the Radio Sports Page at 6:00pm on 92.1 KRLS.
