A Pella man faces several charges after displaying a weapon in the parking lot of Sports Page Bar and Grill in Pella. According to eye witness reports, 37 year old Daniel Burtschi was brandishing a handgun and long gun and threatening nearby construction workers Monday afternoon. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with an unarmed individual matching the witnesses’ description. Burtschi was arrested and charged with going armed with intent, a class D felony, harassment in the first degree and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, both aggravated misdemeanors, public intoxication and possession of weapons while intoxicated. Burtschi was incarcerated at the Pella Police Department. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion County Attorney’s Office assisted.
