The City of Indianola and Warren County are steadily rising according to the latest 2019 estimates from the State of Iowa. In the final population estimate before the 2020 census becomes the official count of citizens, the 2019 estimates show a slight decline in Indianola residents since 2018, however has grown by over 1,300 residents since 2010, while Warren County has grown over 5,000 people since 2010. Overall, Indianola is estimated to be at a population of 16,015 while Warren County is estimated to be at 51,466.
The State Data Center at the State Library of Iowa has released estimates for populations of Iowa cities in 2019 from the U.S. Census Bureau. These estimates will be the last look at Iowa’s population totals before the release of the 2020 Census. Characteristics of the population looking at age, sex, race and Hispanic origin will be released for Iowa and all 99 counties later this year.
