The Knoxville Girls Tennis Squad was going to look a little different this spring. Gone was one of the all-time greats in Alex Griggs, who was a two-time state qualifier. In her place was a variety of girls looking to step up to the number one singles spot and challenge for the leadership role on the team. One player was Alyssa Vaske. The junior was looking forward to vying for the top singles spot and seeing how the current seniors would have led the team this season.

Vaske:
“Some of the seniors were going to come up and play for varsity spots, and it would have been fun to see what we could have done and to grow together.”
