A local high school student-athlete is taking his golf talents to the next level. Isaac Roe of Pleasantville is heading to Simpson College this fall to begin his college experience and join the men’s golf program. Roe says that he’s looking forward to the freedoms of college and being able to compete in two seasons per school year, rather than the standard spring season in high school.
“I’m really just looking forward to the whole college experience. I think I’ll really enjoy it all, the freedoms that come with it, how I’ll have to keep myself accountable for all the things I do and everything that I choose to do. And I’m also looking forward to two seasons of golf each year. That is just going to be a blast for me because I’ll be putting a lot of time towards it.”
Roe will be joining a program with a lot of turnover next season. Over half of this past season’s roster has graduated.
