On Wednesday, Governor Kim Reynolds allowed for the possibility of school-sponsored activities beginning June 1st. Later that day, the IHSAA and IGHSAU announced that they would follow suit and allow a summer sports season. It will be a condensed season with numerous mitigation protocols and restrictions. PCM Activities Director Greg Bonnett says that there will be challenges, and that everyone needs to work together to help make things run as smoothly as possible.
“It’s going to be an interesting thing. I just hope that people keep a positive outlook on everything and understand that we’re all working through this. Literally, guidance changes by the day and by the hour. We’ve all got to work together and try to pull this off.”
Conference games for baseball and softball in the Heart of Iowa will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. An updated schedule will be released sometime this week.
