One of the extra things that local athletic directors are doing to prepare for the summer sports season is meeting with their school nurse and local health departments. Summer sports was given the go-ahead last week to proceed and that means athletic directors are looking at ways to keep fans and players safe while putting on a game and letting the kids have their season. Twin Cedars Athletic Director Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports he has been reading up on all of the guidelines and restrictions set forth by the boys and girls unions and health department to keep everyone safe.

Verwers:
“Just to make sure of doing all we can to slow the spread of this virus and not get into trouble for any reason. It’s something that’s never happened before and may never happen again, and we’re just going to have to do the best we can while playing out the season.”

Verwers hopes to have a full list of guidelines for the fans and players by later this week so they can start preseason practices on June first.
