The Pella City Council approved a contract for the Pella Municipal Airport Runway Rehabilitation project at their most recent meeting. City Administrator Mike Nardini says the $1.41 million effort, which will be funded by the FAA, will start this summer with Wicks Construction earning the bid. The base contract included removal and replacement
of concrete surfacing and cement treated subgrade over one-third of Runway 16/34 and the connecting taxiway
Bid alternates included:
– Repairs on the remaining runway
– Removal and repainting of runway markings
The runway will be closed from August 1st through October 1st for the repairs.
