Once the Iowa High School Girls Union and the Iowa High School Athletic Association gave the go-ahead to have baseball and softball seasons this year, local athletic directors began a very busy couple of days calling and emailing other schools to either confirm their schedule and search out new teams to play. Twin Cedars Athletic Director Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports after a couple of days of searching out confirmations and more games, things have eased a bit and the schedule is coming together.
Verwers:
“It’s pretty hectic with the scheduling I’m doing and I’m sure it’s like that at other schools. It’s starting to come together and getting easier with everyone in the same boat. It’s my understanding that all the schools on our schedule are playing so that makes it easier.”
Both Saber squads are only playing Bluegrass Conference teams once this summer. Verwers says the schedule should be official by the end of the week.
